Circuit Pulse is a rhythm arcade game where you tap nodes in time with a pulsing beat. The format is the most basic version of rhythm-tap arcades, and Circuit Pulse does not extend the format beyond its standard implementation.
What works is the audio sync. Beat timing is reliable. Taps register without lag. The mechanical foundation is functional.
What does not work is the depth. Every level uses the same tap-node-on-beat mechanic. No variation. No special abilities. No combination patterns. After twenty levels the format reveals it has nothing more to offer.
Tested over two TTC sessions before giving up. Touch is the natural input. Mouse-click works fine but feels less rhythmic.
Where the game tries hardest is the cosmetic-pulse-pattern unlocks. Twenty different visual themes through grindable currency. None affect gameplay. The cosmetic layer is the only progression.
Where I would push back is the entire monetisation. Ads between every five levels. Paid skip option. The basic format does not justify this monetisation pressure.
Two-and-a-half stars. Functional basic rhythm arcade with thin design and aggressive monetisation. Skip in favour of better rhythm games on this catalogue.
