Editor review
Light Line is a line-drawing puzzle-arcade where you draw paths connecting glowing nodes without crossing any line. The format is the dot-connect game from 1970s puzzle books crossed with modern arcade pacing.
What works is the path-validation logic. Each level has a defined solution that the algorithm validates instantly. You either drew the right path or you did not. No ambiguity, no time wasted on wrong paths that almost work.
Eighty levels across four chapters. Each chapter increases node count and adds new obstacles. Chapter four introduces moving nodes that you have to anticipate. The progression teaches the format.
Tested over a Toronto Public Library lunch break plus several TTC subway rides home. Touch swipe is the obvious input. Mouse-drag works equally well. Keyboard is supported but feels wrong for the drawing format.
Where the design earns its rating is the moving-node mechanic in chapter four. Static path-drawing is solved by deliberate inspection; moving-node path-drawing requires real-time decision-making. The skill ceiling is higher than the basic format suggests.
Where I would push back is the absence of a level-time-attack mode. The format would suit competitive speedrun gameplay perfectly. The current campaign mode is the only option.
Three-and-a-half stars. Solid line-drawing puzzle-arcade with thoughtful moving-node late game. Worth playing for the format.
